# Privacy Policy — LifeDiary

Prince Sanghani ("I", "me") built the **LifeDiary** app. This app is provided at no cost and is intended for personal use.

By using LifeDiary, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

## 1. Information We Collect

### a) Data You Create
All journal entries, tasks, habits, and finance records you create are stored **locally on your device**. This data belongs to you and is never accessed by me without your explicit action (e.g. enabling cloud backup).

### b) Google Account (Cloud Backup Only)
If you choose to sign in for cloud backup, I collect your **Google account name and email address**. This is used solely to identify your backup in Firebase. It is never sold, shared, or used for marketing.

### c) Photos & Media
Journal photos are stored **locally on your device**. If cloud backup is enabled, they are uploaded to your personal Firebase storage — accessible only to you.

### d) Advertising (AdMob)
LifeDiary uses **Google AdMob** to display ads for free users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, subject to [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy). Pro subscribers see no ads.

### e) Purchase & Subscription (RevenueCat)
In-app purchases are processed via **RevenueCat** and **Google Play Billing**. RevenueCat may collect your purchase history and device information to validate entitlements. See [RevenueCat's Privacy Policy](https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy). I do not store your payment details.

### f) Crash & Analytics (Firebase)
I use **Firebase Crashlytics** and **Firebase Analytics** to understand app stability and usage patterns. This data is anonymized and used only to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.

## 2. Local Storage

The majority of your data — journals, tasks, habits, finance records, and settings — is stored **only on your device** using local storage. I have no access to this data unless you enable cloud backup.

## 3. Cloud Backup

Cloud backup is **optional and off by default**. When enabled:
- Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored in **Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage**
- Only you can access your backup, authenticated via your Google account
- You can delete your backup at any time from the app settings

## 4. Notifications

LifeDiary may send **local notifications** for reminders (habits, journal, tasks). These are scheduled entirely on-device. No notification data is sent to any server.

## 5. Children's Privacy

LifeDiary is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.

## 7. Data Retention & Deletion

- **Local data** — stays on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data
- **Cloud backup data** — retained until you delete it from settings or request deletion
- **AdMob/Firebase/RevenueCat data** — governed by their respective retention policies

To request deletion of your cloud data, email me at the address below or use the "Delete Account" option in app settings.

## 8. Security

I take reasonable measures to protect your data — HTTPS for all network requests, Firebase security rules for cloud storage, and no plaintext storage of sensitive information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

## 9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
